I have to say though, that until I mentioned I had never had any
troubles with Sid, I'd never heard of any--after that, seems that I'm
hearing things almost daily, not only from here, but from some other lug
lists as well.   

Until a week or so ago, I would have cheerfully put it on a non-mission
critical production box.  (I ~still~) think it's far more stable than
many other distributions' "stable" releases.
