If the X app supports UTF-8 input, just use Kotoeri.  Eg, in Emacsen,
M-x set-keyboard-coding-system RET utf-8 RET.

If you have them available on the network, just set the CANNAHOST
(sp?) environment variable on your Mac, and start kinput2 on the
remote machine to display on the local one (I think this works; you
may have to run kinput2 on the same machine where the apps are running
but I don't think so).

NB: MSIME users, don't try this at home.  ;-)
