All of them are like that?  That's pretty odd.  Don't know why, but I'm
sure it's not your card.  I used to use Debian (Woody with a lot of backported
Sid packages) with a G400 in Japan.  Great card, still number one for
2D and sharpness of text, IMO.  I had a G200 that delivered clearer,
sharper text than a GeForce MX200 that I had.

You shouldn't be missing any packages, b/c apt-get takes care of all that.
I've been running Sid since June or July and have not experienced that
at all (now have a Radeon 9000, not a Matrox).

Any X gurus out there have any ideas?
