I don't participate, but I have a browser window open to groups.google.com
all day long, pointing at the NANA* groups for research purposes.

What's funny is that there are so many people who get deluged with hundreds
of spams weekly, sometimes even daily, and I have a honeypot account
on another domain at work. I've let it out i public on Slashdot probably
a couple dozen times, its freely available in my profile there (made
a new /. account with for it) and have now posted it in the ibm.ibmpc.
thinkpad group, and I can go a week or more without getting spammed there,
and I'm *TRYING* to get spammed so I can add in anything that's not
already in our filters. It's a mad, mad, mad world.

I love the smell of filtered spam in the morning - it smells like victory!
