Hi Charles,

I solved the problem differently as I bought an 
PS2 adapter for the USB mouse. I admit its not a nice solution,
but it works from the start and you can (worked for me) install debian 
(3.0) without problems. I later plan to recompile the Kernel, but no 
time ;-)
