Re: [tlug] kinput2 with Mozilla and Open Office Org

Tony,

Thanks for this.

I edited my .i18n file to look like yours, that is to say most items set to ja_JP. Now I have full kinput2 functionality and most of my menus are in english. Open Office Org still has Japanese menus but I guess I can live with that. Regarding the instructions given in Japanese in KDE under Mandrake 9.1 I think it might have been a bit of a bum stear.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get:

I have xterm set like this:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="ja_JP"
LC_NUMERIC="ja_JP"
LC_TIME="ja_JP"
LC_COLLATE="ja_JP"
LC_MONETARY="ja_JP"
LC_MESSAGES="ja_JP"
LC_PAPER="ja_JP"
LC_NAME="ja_JP"
LC_ADDRESS="ja_JP"
LC_TELEPHONE="ja_JP"
LC_MEASUREMENT="ja_JP"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="ja_JP"
LC_ALL=ja_JP

open office comes up with Japanese menus.

kinput2 is another issue, I think.
But I have it running in openoffice, mozilla,
etc., just by invoking it from xterm like this:
kinput2 -canna &

under the same conditions.

You might try something similar
and see if you can get it to
work that way.
