Gentoo is reputedly doing a great job for PPC, a macspert friend of mine
in Germany strongly recommends it over YDL.
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/gentoo-ppc-install.html says that for
Gentoo-PPC to run, the CPU has to be a 603 or later. Guess your 603e is
covered then. :-) What is it you want to convert, a Powerbook?
