Actually, no, these were built before Yamaha went over to the dark side. 
They have serial and telnet interfaces, and that's it.  A flat, beige box
with link and activity lights on the front. Right proper routers, these are
:-)

For some strange reason, Yamaha used lower numbers for the new models.  The
original was the RTA-100, and the 102 was more or less the same thing but a
little smaller (just changed to a plastic case, I think).  Then they
started using the Net Volante name and dropped the number down to RTA-50i. 
Then they went up to 52i, and are maybe still there?

If I'm not under the wrong impression, isn't that kind of unusual for
Japan?  People complain about their DSL quite a bit in the States, but I've
heard it's pretty stable in Japan.

What say you, DSL users?  Does DSL keep your flock of penguins happy, or
does it yoyo up and down?
