One reason I stopped using it was that sorting took very long and a lot
of cpu. Mozilla Mail on the other hand is very fast at that.

Another was that if I choose to 'leave messages on the server', I would
get multiple copies everytime I checked. This doesnt seem to bother most
people though so maybe its just me.

Thats not necessarily good for everyone. It takes longer to
move/copy/tar 1000 files of 10MB total than just 1 10MB file. I agree
that it depends somewhat on the file system but there will still be a
slight difference.
