Just tried ripping xterm and rxvt out, and reinstalling. Didn't help.

Nope, never did that--at least for anything remotely related to xterm
or man pages.

dendrobium:~# ls -l /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           21  2月  6 23:15 x-terminal-emulator -> /usr/X11R6/bin/uxterm
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           32  2月  6 23:15 x-terminal-emulator.1.gz -> /usr/X11R6/man/man1/uxterm.1x.gz
dendrobium:~# ls -l /usr/share/man/man1/xterm*
ls: /usr/share/man/man1/xterm*: No such file or directory
dendrobium:~# ls -l /usr/X11R6/man/man1/xterm*
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root        28927  1月 30 02:34 /usr/X11R6/man/man1/xterm.1x.gz

I don't see anything wrong with those, which is why I suspected man
screwing up instead of xterm.
