you lost me here.
Why are you using pump?
you should either use dhcp client (if your adsl box has dhcpd setup) or
setup the ethernet card yourself  (static ip}
(This is how I do it at home)
the files you need to edit for ethernet setup are
/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
you might want to change if you need to
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/hosts

Then again I'm not sure if Japan is using the same stuff as here.
'care to tell me your ISP and your adsl modem maker and model number?
