RE: named doesn't like my syntax




I believe that you are correct for ANY version of bind, Thomas.  You have to
format the SOA record correctly, or named will swear at you, in its own
special way :)

Not sure about bind 9.x but I believe that you would need this to be...

0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.   IN SOA intranet.intranet.hmv.co.jp.
hostmaster.intranet.intranet.hmv.co.jp. (

where the last entry is the email of the responsible person. Again, I'm
not sure about bind 9.x. I believe you also need the "." on the end. The
best place to look is the html docs that come with bind 9. Books are
known to have the odd typo.
