Capturing screen output



I don't know who linux@example.com is, so I deleted it.  Forward if you
think it would be of interest.

The "grab" function built into xv(1), or the import(1) program from
the Imagemagick distribution are both simple.  However, both do a fair
amount of implicit processing under some circumstances, and

		       xwd | xwdtopnm | pnmtops

might be preferable if you want to do processing on the raw data.

The GIMP has complex versions of the function, and there are probably
GNOME versions of the straightforward window-capture apps for the
commandline-impaired.
