I believe that the usual terminfo/termcap entries for kterm are way
bogus.  I don't use kterm much (if I need a Japanese shell I do M-x
shell in xemacs), so I haven't gotten around to trying to figure it
out.  There may be something on Craig's web page, or you could
actually buy the book ;-)  (Yeah, I should know this stuff, but it's
been a long time....)
