I like yours better, too. Both versions are pointless since anyone who needs a
lesson in mailing list manners is not going to read the welcome message[1],
but the Chris version wastes less electrons in the process.

So I'm cynical. You'd be, too, if you've posted Usenet FAQs for a few years.

[1] FWIW, I'm the complete idiot who didn't see the reference to tlug-post in
the welcome message, and spent a month corresponding with /dev/null.
