tlug: Does samba support all the possible Japanese file names that NT does?

Does samba support all the possible Japanese file names that NT does?

I can't upload files that have long Japanese characters to the samba 2.0.7
English server running on Redhat 6.1

Is this the limitation by design?

Another question:

Is the Japanized samba any good? I've tried to install the latest 2.0.5a
JP2 onto Japanese Redhat 6.1 but it never worked. ( I still don't know why)
Furthermore, the Japanized samba says they add features such as
japanese-share-names to the original samba. Well, all I need is the support
for Japanese _file-names_ . I think enabling things such as Japanese
share-names is just asking for troubles.

So if that's all I need, I suppose I don't need the localized Samba or
Redhat.

Am I correct?
