It sure is fun :-), but think about it is all I can do.  I agree that just
bouncing mail with double-byte mangled From: would be the Right
Thing, but not from a staying-in-business standpoint.  People
just want their mail, so we have to accept it.

There's a thing called Getmail (haven't tried it) that's intended
as a replacement for Fetchmail.  Maybe that will be more willing
to accept mangled mail than Fetchmail.  Search on Freshmeat.
